I get a text message at 1:00 stating that my model has cancelled on me for Sunday's shoot. I am now in a bind and have to find a last minute model. Luckily my good friend Maddy had answered quickly and was able to fill in. Everything turned out great and we had a fun time doing it! It was her first photo shoot like this style and she had a great experience doing so.

During my Creative Concepts class at the Art Institute, my midterm was to create an awareness photo to portray something that needs help in the world. I chose to do breast cancer awareness. I feel that breast cancer is a big part of our world these days. You hear about more and more women getting breast cancer. My mom had bladder cancer and battled through the fight. That is what inspired me to do this shoot in the first place. 1 in every 8 women gets breast cancer in their lifetime. So bringing to my awareness, I chose my model Ghazlyn Clayton. I picked her for multiple different reasons but the number one reason was because she was on the flat chested side. When you get breast cancer sometimes to help get rid of it you have to have the breast removed. Considering my mom won “the fight”. I chose a boxing theme to help represent fighting, but I also used pink fighting equipment because pink is a nationwide color that represents breast cancer. For the midterm picture, I used a wrist wrap as a prop because it looks like a pink ribbon. Everyone knows that a pink ribbon represents breast cancer and since we weren’t allowed to use text in our midterm image I felt that this best suited the criteria. Ghazlyn and I worked together at styling considering she is a fashion major at the Art Institute. I used a beauty dish off to the side to create some harsh lighting. We had a lot of fun working together trying to come up with the best poses and stances that represented fighting. Yet, we had to make sure that she was covered. To continue on with this project, our final was to create a triptych, but text was allowed to be incorporated. So using the images of actual boxing equipment I used photos of the boxing stances and I feel that it turned out fairly well.
My client had come to me asking if I was good at boudoir photography. I had told her it was in my top 3. She had asks me of a few favors. One of them being if I would take pictures of her for her boyfriend for Valentines Day. She was very nervous and didn’t want to be “naked” in front of anybody. But she trusted me. I made her feel like I wasn’t even there. After 20 minutes she was comfortable and relaxed. I played some fun upbeat music to fix the mood and we were about to capture some fun and sexy photos. She told me she was in love with them all.
During my Creative Concepts class at the Art Institute, I had an assignment that was to portray a word that my team pictured from a hat. Amanda Stambaugh and I had got the word "Anxiety". Our assignment was challenging, yet fun experience. Our challenge was to represent and create a diptych image that represented anxiety. This is a behind the scenes image of Amanda Stambaugh shoot the first half of our project. Above it showcases how anxiety sneaks up behind you. Also I am on of the many hand models above for her.
This picture is the behind the scenes for the second portion of our diptych. It showcases how anxiety then grabs a hold of you and doesn't let go. Eight people helped in the production of this diptych. Amanda and I are very thankful for all the help. On a side note, we got bonus points for being the best diptych in the class!
